Shivers (1975)
Roger, I had a very disturbing dream last night. In this dream I found myself making love to a strange man. Only I'm having trouble you see, because he's old... and dying... and he smells bad, and I find him repulsive. But then he tells me that everything is erotic, that everything is sexual. You know what I mean? He tells me that even old flesh is erotic flesh. That disease is the love of two alien kinds of creatures for each other. That even dying is an act of eroticism. That talking is sexual. That breathing is sexual. That even to physically exist is sexual. And I believe him, and we make love beautifully.
david cronenberg's first feature film and a landmark for many of his later films
personally my favorite cronenberg film
and it has lyn lowery.

i've not seen this movie. read all about it, but still it has eluded me. lowery is a sight. do you know her other films? george romero's the crazies, and david durston's i drink your blood. don't think she has done much outside of '70s exploitation. but the disc of i drink your blood, lovingly restored by sage stallone's [sy's son] outfit grindhouse releasing has a terrific interview of her along with durston. she's still lovely thru all these years.
i drink your blood is good, but its no i spit on your grave -- and camille keaton is a billion times more fetching than lyn lowery, though i suppose that's a only a matter of taste.
the soundtrack to i drink your blood is awesome.
yes miss camille is lovely - but iven't seen i spit on your grave ( i will now)
i'm also very fond of susan george
susan george was one ideologically promiscuous dish in straw dogs, that's for sure. i remember those hot flashes she gave off in that film the first time i saw it, some 20 years ago. "this is a rape, but i kinda like it its kinkiness. i think i'll let this brute rape me i'm enjoying it sooo much..." -- typical peckinpah male wish-fulfillment.
i've always wanted to see crazy mary, dirty larry -- or dirty mary, crazy larry -- whatever moniker the movie goes by. that's a film i didn't even know she was in, until i just checked. cult film simply does not come purer than this...
dirty mary crazy larry is a great film - the ending shocked me as a kids - holoy fuck what a film - still the only film with fuck face peter fonda i can stomach
all the fondas were are and will be bad news until time stops.
