well the post brought me a copy of
BEFORE THE GOLDEN DAWN by david uu by Daniel f. Bradley, published in a massive edition of 170 copies by CURVD H&Z. the design and production are impressive (as is the standard at the house of H&Z), and as with so many of the CURVD products of the last few years the connections have to run wild. in this case
BEFORE THE GOLDEN DAWN by david uu by Daniel f. Bradley, has been printed using similar gestetner machine that Nelson Ball use to produce
BEFORE THE GOLDEN DAWN by david uu in 1971, when Ball ran the wonderful weed/flower press. the type is set with the same “tiny typewriter” typeface and the product is low fi and high concept. not a replica but about as closed to being a WFP booklet that i going to get. the text fits this detail (sorta), it’s a rather ham fisted essay on
BEFORE THE GOLDEN DAWN by david uu, a rather strange and hermetic and fragmented story. as has been my quest in over the past decade, this is just another really fucken beautiful book with my name on the front. the trade edition is available for $5.00 from jwcurry, c/o #302-880 Somerset Street West, Ottawa Ontario Canada K1R 6R7. and remember i’m reading in ottawa next wednesday, April 26th at 8:00 pm at Richard Fitzpatrick Books, 1098 Somerset St. West, with my bookthugs

Hey Dan, read this this morning, made me think of you so I thought I'd share:
"The new is never new but we make it new in order to keep in from becoming dead to us. The motto shouldn't be make it new by make it live, but necrophilia surrounds us and we take its stench as the perfume of our hip indifference to art as something that changes in time, shift against the tides, hollers out in anguish and exasperation at the suffocating banalities that seem to call our name out loud, as if we were written by them." --Charles Bernstein.
Guess it's just the corpse you choose to lie with, eh?
Jay
